Global Villagers

Our last class with our friends from Indonesia was a look back at how much we learned about our friends in Indonesia and Japan and being a global citizen. We touched upon children's rights, the 5Rs and gender equality.

The kids in Japan watched three videos from the kids in Indonesia about school life, including footage of the kids practicing English in class. The Kids2Kids program gave them an opportunity to do something they had never done before because they wanted to try to communicate with the kids in Japan. Every opportunity to reach out and connect is a chance to move past the virtual boundaries of the world you know and venture out into unexplored lands.

To thank their friends in Indonesia, the kids in Japan made cards and a beautiful poster for them to hang up in their classroom. Such beautiful sentiments from kids who have not met each other in person, but maybe someday...
